Explosive Hearing Attacks US Soccer, Blazer, Etc.

Senator Blumenthal said it best: "US soccer either knew or should have known about the FIFA corruption." The only speaker that I did not trust in this was Mr. Flynn, the CEO of US Soccer, and he kept dodging questions left and right. Mr. Jennings gave the suggestion that US Soccer leave FIFA, and that I can't endorse. However, the most shocking statement of all in this hearing was that Flynn knew that voting for Prince Ali in the last FIFA presidential election meant suicide for USSF's efforts to host the 2026 World Cup in this bidding process. That to me is not shocking as much as the assertion that the senators did not administer the hearing under oath. This hearing should have been under oath and records should have been subpoenaed for the committee's review. The senator that asked the line of questioning about equal pay for women is just covering herself politically; she should have asked Mr. Flynn about SUM and their involvement in the TV rights and the other World Cup things to which they are related. I say that Mr. Gulati should be charged with contempt for not appearing himself, rather instead sending a proxy to attend the hearing on his behalf. Had this been a subpoenaed hearing, this would not have happened, and we would have been treated to Gulati's dance show around the questions.  However, this is not the end of the road with these hearings, and long may they continue, until the truth is found.
